In today's edition of classic Mito - Tokyo Gerben Fens finished 8th. With the terrain in Japan perfectly suited for the self-proclaimed 'Fastest Man on a Bike', the team management hoped for more. Still, Gerben showed no real signs of disappointment.
That is why Mr. Lameris decided to send Gerben on a hired autograph session. A simple job, probably the worst paid one at that. We hope the little bookstore where the two day session is held will be very crowded, yet with virtually no people interested in an autograph from our 'superstar', just to show him a valuable lesson.
Eventhough this approach is different from the one Twan followed after the dissapointing results of Eric at the start of this season (he gave him an increased salary), the manager still feels this is fair: "Gerben is a kid of this team. We trained him, we coached him, we guided him. He would be nowhere without us, so a little gratitude and a lot of effort would be really appreciated in return. Spoiled kids these days, grrmpfff..."

That will teach him!
Nonetheless, the National Team coach is not to happy about it.
